Black clay — a craft passed through generations. Red clay — from the same land.
The tradition nearly vanished under Soviet rule. Collectivization, political repression, silence. Potters were sentenced to imprisonment or worse. By the late 20th century, only a handful of masters remained.
Today, a new generation carries it forward. Each piece made from the land where the artist lives. Traditional black clay. His red clay.
